Origin story:

Loki is based on the Norse god of mischief, who was the son of the giant Laufey and the adopted brother of Thor. In the comics, Loki was a master of magic and a frequent enemy of the Avengers. He often schemed to overthrow Asgard and take the throne from Odin. He also had the ability to change his shape and gender, and fathered several monstrous offspring, such as the wolf Fenrir and the serpent Jormungand.

Loki made his first appearance in Venus #6 (August 1949) as a member of the Olympian gods. He later debuted in the Marvel Universe in Journey into Mystery #85 (October 1962) as Thor’s arch-nemesis. He has appeared in several comic series, such as Thor, The Avengers, Journey into Mystery, Young Avengers, Loki: Agent of Asgard, Vote Loki, and Loki (2019).
