Marvel Pauses Pre-Production on Blade Due to Writers’ Strike

Marvel Studios has paused pre-production on Blade due to the ongoing writers’ strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The vampire thriller, starring Mahershala Ali, was set to begin filming in Atlanta next month.

This is the second time that production on Blade has been paused, and it is the first tentpole movie to be affected by the writers’ strike. Marvel Studios is still preparing to shoot Deadpool 3 and Thunderbolts in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Captain America: New World Order is currently filming in Atlanta, and Fantastic Four is scheduled to begin filming in London in January 2024. Despite the strike’s impact, Marvel is expected to be one of the busiest studios in the coming months.
