Marvel’s Secret Invasion’s Episode 4 recently streamed on Disney+ and there were some huge revelations in the episode about Skrulls and Avengers. After Nick Fury starts taking on the secret invasion in the MCU, there’s been a lot of twists.

In a surprising twist that has left Marvel fans reeling, the latest episode of Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion has unveiled a major secret. James “Rhodey” Rhodes, also known as War Machine in the MCU and a longtime member of the Avengers, is not who he appears to be. He’s a Skrull!
The revelation came to light in Episode 4, leaving viewers questioning the true identity of Rhodey and the implications of his infiltration. Nick Fury, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, knows that a Skrull has penetrated deep into the U.S. Government. The situation becomes increasingly precarious when Fury overhears a conversation between Rhodey and his Skrull wife, Priscilla, during which she is given an assignment to eliminate her husband, Fury.
While Fury gets initially angry at his Skrull wife, they later resolve their matter after a little shootout at home.
Fury wastes no time in confronting Skrull Rhodey, setting off a dangerous cat-and-mouse game between the two. The stakes are high as Fury tries to protect the planet from the “Secret Invasion” by the rogue Rhodey and his Skrull party.
Marvel Studios President and executive producer Kevin Feige sheds light on the revelation. In a recent interview, Feige explained,
“We needed to have a character that one would not expect to be a Skrull. Don [Cheadle] was on board for this reveal, playing and revealing another side of Rhodey that we haven’t seen before.”

According to Feige, when discussed with Don Cheadle about who he was going to portray, he expressed enthusiasm for this new avenue. Just so you know, MCU has a history of valuing the input of its talented actors and treating them as partners in the creative collaboration process.
The lingering question remains: How long has Rhodey been a Skrull?
Feige tantalizingly suggests that attentive fans should rewatch past appearances of Rhodey to uncover subtle hints that all was not as it seemed. The answer to this perplexing puzzle will be revealed in due course, as Secret Invasion continues to captivate audiences with its complex narrative.
