Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 has been the talk of the town ever since its announcement. Now, the casting announcements for the film have started rolling in. According to reports, Morena Baccarin, who played the role of Vanessa in the first two Deadpool movies, might return in the third installment.

In an interview with the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, Baccarin spoke about her potential return to the franchise. When asked about it, she stated,

“I’d like to be in it. They have called me about being in it.”

However, Baccarin also mentioned that there are some issues that need to be resolved before her return can be confirmed.

“Right now, we have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. It may or may not work out. I don’t know,” she said.

Baccarin also shared her thoughts on the future of the Deadpool franchise. She revealed that Marvel and Disney are looking to make the third installment more about Wolverine and Deadpool, with Hugh Jackman reportedly reprising his role as the famous mutant.

“I do feel like they’re trying to reinvent it a little bit. I think this movie is going to be much more about Wolverine and Deadpool,” Baccarin said.

Even though it’s not confirmed whether Vanessa will be in Deadpool 3, Baccarin’s comments have at least opened up the possibility. Speaking about the story, Baccarin hinted that Vanessa could easily be brought back from the dead, given the Multiverse in play. “She may even be back already thanks to Wade Wilson’s time-jumping spree in the post-credits scenes that changed the course of history,” she said.

The focus of Deadpool 3 is reportedly going to be on the relationship between Deadpool and Wolverine, as fans have been waiting to see the two characters share the screen for a long time. Baccarin acknowledged this, stating,

“I do think that this movie, since the acquirement of this Deadpool universe by Marvel/Disney… that merger that happened, I do feel like they’re trying to reinvent it a little bit.”

Although Baccarin is uncertain about her return to the franchise, it’s exciting news for MCU fans to hear that she has been in talks with Marvel Studios. Deadpool 3 is set to release in theaters on November 8, 2024.
