Marvel gets back rights of The Punisher and Jessica Jones from Netflix

Netflix originals

According to Comicbook.com, Marvel has gotten back the rights to The Punisher and Jessica Jones. Previously, Marvel and Netflix had a deal that allowed Netflix to bring characters, including Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher, to live-action. The multi-year deal has finally ended, and the characters will come home now. Now, Marvel Studios can use these characters in live-action series or movies in the coming Disney+ content.

After the news of Disney establishing its own streaming service, Disney+, Netflix canceled the successful Marvel shows to answer that. Daredevil and The Punisher were canceled even after being massive hits. Certainly, Netflix wouldn’t want the competition, Disney+, to take advantage of these characters once they move where they actually belong, Disney. However, it still remains to be seen that the streaming giant will hold the rights to stream the shows or not.
